Busy weekend

Even though my MC is till 17 April 2010, I decided to go back to work on 1 April - mainly because I felt (am feeling) much better already despite having to go to the hospital every other day to have the wound checked and dressed.

The second reason is the university is being audited by MQA this month - an exercise called Academic Performance Audit (APA) - for the purpose of ranking all the public and private universities in the country. Being one of the HODs there are documentations that I (the HOD) need to prepare or make sure well prepared. An acting HOD has been appointed in my absence from the office since early March, but I myself feel that I would not want to be left out from this exercise, which the MQA said will take place every 5 years.

So, there goes my Saturday and Sunday... which actually coincides with Amin's weekend at home. Poor Amin... I originally planned to take the kids to see a movie, they wanted to see Clash of the Titans, but it had to be cancelled as I was tied up with the preparation of the audit both on Saturday and Sunday. He was even sent back to his school yesterday by his daddy.

On Friday, Amin hit the pillow as soon as he reached home and refused to get up to even to have dinner (he's been complaining of not having enough sleep due to the hostel routine - going to bed at 12am and having to wake up at 5.30am). But since I already promised the other kids to have dinner out that day, we left him at home and went out anyway. We had dinner at this restaurant at Tesco Shah Alam that the kids had been wanting to try for quite some time - Pak Hailam Kopitiam. There is this real-life size photo of one of the Sidik brothers (forgot which one - either Misbun or Razif or Jailani) in front of the restaurant - not sure if he owns the Kopitiam or he is just the "duta" of the outlet.

The food was not bad, the kids loved what they ordered, but the service was not up to my expectation...

Here are some photos:

The waiter let us wait for what Muaz claimed to be one hour before she came and took our order - Muaz was really pissed off - not just because of the restaurant service anyway...
But pissed of not, this son of mine is always handsome... :)

Nabil arm wrestled his daddy while waiting for his food
(he and Aqim ordered spaghetti bolognaise)

But Mia, as usual, always "control ayu"... hahaha...

Finally the drinks came - guess who ordered the plain water... :(

The spaghetti bolognaise - looks can be deceiving - first look I said, kalau tak sedap, order something else lah Nabil ok? - But the taste was actually quite good. Nabil cleaned up his plate, which he seldom did...

Muaz and his daddy ordered the same thing - Hailam Mee

Guess who ordered this pathetic looking dish?

Mia - enjoying her lamb chop - in Malay... Kambing potong? hahaha...
Mia said it was very good, she let daddy and Aqim have a taste and they both agreed. Aqim said the next time we come here, he will definitely order the kambing potong. hehe...

Muaz enjoying his Hailam Mee - his mood was spoilt due to the not-so-good service of the restaurant, thus he didnt speak a word over the entire dinner...

And that's me with my vegetarian curry meehoon.. how did it taste... hm... I believe the curry mee at Secret Recipe and Pak Li taste better...

The damage was RM70+ , which was quite ok for 6 people, compared to other Kopitiams that we had gone to...
